Reagan’s Run

Reagan’s Run – A Rea of Hope Event

Sunday September 17, 2023 – Wilson Farm Park – 8:00 AM

To honor Reagan and the 3.4 million people living with epilepsy, Rea of Hope will host our 2nd annual Reagan’s Run on Sunday, September 17, 2022 at Willson Farm Park.

The goal of this 5K Fun Run AND a one-mile walk is to raise awareness and funds for epilepsy research, with all proceeds going directly to CURE Epilepsy (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy). The mission of CURE is to find a cure for epilepsy, by promoting and funding patient-focused research.

Reagan’s Run 2022 raised just shy of $30,000! Stay tuned for the 2023 fundraising goal.

This is a family-friendly event, with a raffle table, snacks, and lots of smiles!

REAGAN MONAST

Reagan, the inspiration for Rea of Hope, was diagnosed with epilepsy shortly before her second birthday after three unprovoked seizures. Reagan tried and “failed” several anti-epileptic medications before starting the medical ketogenic diet in March 2019 at seven years of age. She achieved 18 months of seizure freedom, yet her seizures returned in April 2020, and she has not found that level of seizure freedom since. As of January 2023, Reagan weaned from the ketogenic diet per her neurologist’s and dietician’s suggestion. Now eleven years old, Reagan is a positive and happy kid who advocates for herself and others living with epilepsy. Reagan’s Run honors not only Reagan but every person living with epilepsy.

We thank CURE Epilepsy, the beneficiary of Reagan’s Run, for their continued research moving us closer to a cure for epilepsy.
